Google is set to unveil its next generation of flagship smartphones, the Pixel 10 series, globally on August 20, 2025. Following last year's strategy, the lineup will feature four distinct models: the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the much-anticipated Pixel 10 Pro Fold. These devices promise significant advancements in design, performance, and camera technology, catering to a wide range of users.

The India launch for the Pixel 10 series is confirmed for August 21, with Google teasing exclusive offers for those who sign up on the Google Store.

Design Evolution and Display Innovations

While the Pixel 10 and Pixel 10 Pro are expected to retain a familiar aesthetic to their predecessors, subtle yet notable refinements are on the way. Both models will now incorporate a triple rear camera setup, and a slight increase in thickness (approximately 0.1mm) and weight is anticipated. The larger Pixel 10 Pro XL will also see a bump in weight, reaching 232g.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold stands out with its unique form factor, featuring a 6.4-inch outer display and an expansive 8.0-inch inner foldable OLED panel. When unfolded, its dimensions are expected to be around 155.2 x 150.4 x 5.2mm.

All four Pixel 10 models are likely to feature vibrant OLED panels with smooth 120Hz refresh rates, promising a fluid visual experience. The standard Pixel 10 is projected to have a 6.3-inch FHD+ display, while the Pro and Pro XL variants are expected to offer similar display specifications, differing mainly in size.

Powering the Pixels: Tensor G5 and Android 16

At the core of the entire Pixel 10 series will be Google's latest custom-designed chip, the Tensor G5. This new silicon is engineered to deliver enhanced performance and efficiency, crucial for powering advanced AI features and a seamless user experience. All devices will ship with the latest Android 16 operating system out of the box, bringing with it a suite of new functionalities, including streamlined notifications, improved hearing aid compatibility, enhanced security features like Advanced Protection, and a desktop mode for tablets.

Battery capacities across the lineup are expected to see an upgrade:

♦ Pixel 10: 4970 mAh

♦ Pixel 10 Pro: 4870 mAh

♦ Pixel 10 Pro Fold: 5015 mAh

♦ Pixel 10 Pro XL: 5200 mAh

Camera Capabilities: Enhanced Sensors Across the Board

Google's Pixel smartphones are renowned for their computational photography, and the Pixel 10 series is poised to continue this legacy with significant camera upgrades.

♦ Pixel 10: Expected to feature a triple rear camera system, including a 50MP GN8 main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP telephoto lens. The front camera is tipped to be a sharp 42MP sensor.

♦ Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL: These premium models are rumored to pack a more advanced triple camera setup, consisting of a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide lens, and a 48MP telephoto lens.

♦ Pixel 10 Pro Fold: May house a 48MP main camera, complemented by additional ultra-wide and telephoto shooters. For selfies and video calls, it's expected to feature dual 10MP front-facing sensors.
